California Stem Cell Report Honored as One of The Best Stem Cell Blogs

The California Stem Cell Report has been named one of the top 13 stem cell blogs internationally by Webicina.com, a physician-directed Web site aimed at helping physicians and patients obtain reliable information.

Webicina prepared the list because of the plethora of misleading and inaccurate information on the Web. In addition to this blog, the list of best blogs included the Cancer Stem Cell News, authored by Jim Till from the Cancer Stem Cell Consortium in Canada, CellNEWS, authored by Lars Carlsson, a Swedish researcher, and Stem Cell Awareness of the Stem Cell Cell Awareness Association.

Webicina is directed by Dr. Bertalan Mesko from Hungary, who is also responsible for the ScienceRoll blog, which he reports has had more than 1.6 million views. Mesko has also been quoted by Nature, the New York Times and the British Medical Journal, among others, concerning the impact of the Web on science and medicine.

Thank goodness for Webincina.com. This blog deserves many awards for the outstanding work it does in educating the public and others and advocating that CIRM be accountable to the citizens of the State of California. Much of what is done in darkness would never see the light of day if not for your investigative reporting and blog. How unfair it is that a few from the good old boys club are elevated financially, court Hollywood, and spend taxpayer dollars -- let's not forget CIRM's fancy Marriott dinners with shiny domed lids, or the CIRM popcorn munchers at their meeting held at a famed theater, or the thousands of dollars spent in free calendars and wall art for CIRM's offices -- while tens of thousands of California citizens are still without JOBS (across all sectors of employment, not just medical research) and without CURES and after, when it's all said and done, $6 billion will have been spent!

Oh, and not to mention that CIRM will be looking for MILLIONS more in bond money real soon!
